10 Minutes or Less Holiday Hair!

Poof

This was well into party #2 of the night which involved a drinking game and various other shenanigans! The hair is still holding up though!

Tis the season for lots and lots of parties and not a lot of time to prep for them. I had very little time this past weekend to make my mane multi-party worthy but managed to pull this together (with some help from a pro) in very little time.

First of all, we need to dip into some of my favorite lazy mom hair hacks like Dry Shampoo and the KISS Instawave Curler. Dry Shampoo is critical to this holiday do as it not only saves you a ton of time for not having to wash and blow dry your hair, but will also give your hair some texture to help with the poof.

The Instawave Curler deserves a post of its own at some point but basically this little gem will curl your hair in minutes flat, all while using only one hand (so you can hold your glass of wine in the other!).

So, now that we have some curls in our hair, all you need to do is….

a) Take the front portion of your hair and comb it forward, then section it off – you will be pulling this up and over to form the poof. Or if you want, you can back comb this section lightly too!

b) Take several small sections behind the hair you just sectioned off and lightly backcomb them to create some good texture in your hair. if you don’t want to look like Snooki then go a bit easy on the back combing. If you don’t know how to backcomb (like me) then check out this great tutorial.

c) Unclip the sectioned off hair and pull back over your backcombed hair

d) Secure with some bobby pins or barettes – whatever floats your boat.

e) Finish with some bomb proof hairspray like Elnett and you are good to go!

Believe me, this hair lasted me through two very Merry Xmas parties which lasted until the wee hours of the morning. And ladies, if I can do this then you can too! Happy Holiday Do everyone!

That is awesome. Something I have never used is dry shampoo, I have a friend who uses it but I never have. I’m sure it’s great to have if your ever in a pinch. You look fab. 🙂

Thanks girl! I use Dove Dry Shampoo – it’s cheap and does the trick as well as the expense ones 🙂

Cute hairstyle. Tell me more about this instawave. I used to have curls before babies and now I just have thick, frizzy hair that I either braid or straigthen. I like the easiness sounding of that curler. My kind of tool!
