How To Make Pinterest Worthy Graphics On Your Smart Phone

June 3, 2015

For the past few days I have been in the Okanagan at the inaugural @RoamEvent Social Media conference learning about all things social media (and drinking wine, and eating nachos, and getting inked – but that’s another post).

One of the biggest things I have learned thus far is how much I suck at using two of the most popular platforms right now (aka Pinterest and Instagram) and that I really need to up my game in the visual media space.

And just like it was meant to be, this amazingly brilliant friend of mine introduced me to this new design app for your smrtphone called Studio App.

Basically, Studio is a community of designers that post pre-made templates that you can simply “remix” with your own photos or styles. Or, if you are feeling really creative you can design your own masterpiece using their built in design features. And best yet? They support LAYERS! Actually I take that back, the best yet is that it is FREE people! FREE!

We had a session on Pinterest at RauDZ Regional Table with Paula Coop McCrory who with over 9 million followers really knows her sh*t when it comes to Pinterest.

I, on the other hand, at 225 followers, clearly do NOT.

So as part of the learning process the head chef brought out some amazingly beautiful plates of food for us to photograph and pin. Using Studio I was able to up my game against a room full of Pinterest-pros by adding some text and graphics to my photos which I then shared not only within the Studio community, but on Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest all from within the app. Love!
