TGIF! TGIF! It’s friday y’all and that means its basketball night for the boys and a guilt free “get out of making dinner” card for me! Woot!
I have written before on the blog for my distain of all things dinner (except eating it of course). I just don’t really have that culinary gene that gets me excited about whipping up meat, veg and a coupla sides every night. In fact, it even inspired my “Domestically Challenged” posts on the blog so I could share some of my really easy, one pot dinners that take no time at all to prepare. In the end, do my kids eat them? Heck no! But I kind of gave up on them eating anything except chicken strips and rice along time ago.
Anyways, the other day I was really frustrated. I had been home sick with my littlest for a few days and we literally had NOTHING in the house. I couldn’t really get out to the store without dragging the wee sick one with me so I had a mini meltdown in my office. In order to gain some sympathy of course I had to post on Facebook.
Nineteen comments! I seem to have struck a nerve with my peeps out in the interwebz land. Of course some of my peeps just rubbed my face in the fact that they were eating 5 course, organically grown, home baked meals that night but whateves.
(BAD LANGUAGE ALERT – PLEASE DON”T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY THE EFF WORD)
One wonderful commentator posted this little gem – http://whatthefuckshouldimakefordinner.com/
Not only is this site quite brilliant in its simplicity, but it makes some good (but out of my league) dinner suggestions too! So the next time you find yourself face to face with 5 o clock and nothing is on the stove be sure the visit WTFSIMFD or have the local pizza place on speed dial like I do 🙂
