The importance of getting a properly sized bra

So one of the things I have always hated doing is going *ahem* bra shopping. So, for most of my life I have either:

a) worn a sports bra (hello 20’s!)

b) worn a maternity/nursing bra (hello 30’s)

c) worn a cheap ass totally mis-sized bra from H&M or the like (hello 40’s)

But you know what. The girls just aren’t alright with this. The girls have been abused through the years. Abused by years of sports, aboused by time, abused by years of being pregnant and nursing kids (for far too long!), and by years of not being supported the way the girls should be by a good quality bra.

So it was time to change all that. I missed my perky girls but I was not ready to go down the surgical route to regain that “pep”.

So one day I walked into a great little store called CHANGE and it literally CHANGED my  life. The lovely salesgirl (yes, she was probably 21 if that, but very lovely and she knew her bras!) asked me if I needed help and I semi-confidentally said “Yes, show me what you have in a 34D”. SG (salesgirl for short) gave my rack a very nice once over and said “I don’t think that is your size – let’s get you measured”.

Now, my girls haven’t been (wo)man-handled by another woman since the good old lactation nurses at the hospital years ago but SG was gentle and made the whole experience as comfortable as possible. SG ran out front and brought back a selection of lovely bras in……

Wait for it….

size 32F!!!!!

YES THAT IS NOT A TYPO FOLKS – 32 F as in wholy F**k how I could I be an F?! 🙂 (and to get some perspective peeps – SOfia Vergara and Kate Upton are both 32F as well. Go girls!)

But she was right, at least for one style of bra, in the others I was a more modest 32E (gulp!) but the girls are looking as perky as they did waaaaayyyyyy back when.

Now my girls are happy and so am I!
