Why women are our own worst enemies

Different day, same old story – why oh why oh why do we women constantly have to smack each other down?

You see, the other day there was a bunch of people talking smack online about some good friends of mine. These friends have been nothing but loyal and supportive and generous with their time and knowledge as I grow my fledgling blog and business. I have never heard them talk smack about others, and everything they do has been in full support of helping others grow.

They have had my back as I have theirs. Always. And that’s why I felt the need to write this post.

Maybe it’s the Aries in me, but people talking smack about my friends or family makes me want to go all Chuck Norris on them. Seriously. I literally feel my heart rate rise, my fists clench, and “dem fighting words” percolate on my tongue. But spewing all that venom would make me just like THEM, and I don’t want to be like them.

Unfortunately, these “people” are hiding behind the privileged gate of a private online group. Of course it’s easy to spill your vitriol online by trash talking those who aren’t allowed in the group to defend themselves. Bottom line, if you have something to say to someone, then have the b*lls to say it to their face, or don’t say it at all – especially online. Bullying much?

Why no one in that group stepped forward to say “hey, this is uncool” is beyond me so I am standing up and publicly saying THIS IS NOT COOL – online bullying of any form needs to STOP. Although I did hear today that some women have chosen to leave the group, kudos to them for having the guts to leave.

So come on gals, let’s be classy not assy.
