The day I owned a pair of Louboutins

August 15, 2013

I have a confession to make. I am a bit of a gossip magazine junkie. Yes, i’ll admit it…People, US, Life & Style, In Touch, you name it and I will devour its smutty contents gleefully each and every day. For me, it’s a bit of a break from reality and a chance to live vicariously through the lives of the rich and famous (or infamous). One of the items I don’t relate to very well is the fashion pieces – mostly because some of the dresses and shoes that the celebs wear are worth more than I make in a year with my little consulting business. And the shoes, the shoes! I am a bit of a shoe junkie myself, but for the most part my collection is practical – boots, flats, sneakers, you know, everyday life shoes. Even on date nights with hubs, I rarely break out anything fancier than a wedge sandal….

So wasn’t it ironic that when I was in Chicago at the AMAZING Awesome Party at the Navy Pier sponsored by Yappem that I won these….

Shoes Yes you read that right, those are Christian Louboutins! Holy sh*t!!

Unfortunately they were about 5 sizes too small for my big old feet, but one of the lovely and gracious hostesses of the event Barb Jones kindly offered me the gift receipt so I could take them back or exchange them at Neiman Marcus.

Holy sh*t!

The best part of all is that I can share about all of the new things I buy and my experience with Neman Marcus on Yappem – an amazing new social network that allows you to communicate and share how you feel about brands and products — good or bad — and get rewarded in the real world with gift cards and discounts.
