One Day at a time

Schneider – lol!

They say that “everything old is new again”  and I couldn’t agree more. There is something about getting older that makes you feel nostalgic for the past. Sometimes we dig up old photos to reminisce about the good old days, or we visit our hometowns or friends we grew up with. A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go see U2 live in concert for the 30th anniversary of their amazing Joshua Tree album. What is even more amazing is that the Joshua Tree tour was the very first concert I ever saw, in the exact same location (BC Place Stadium) 30 years ago. 30 years. Where has the time gone!?

Anyways, since then I have been downloading their music plus other classics from the 80’s & 90’s and listening to that music got me nostalgic for other things 80’s & 90’s so when it came to choosing a new show to binge watch on Netflix, I went old school.

Here are some “old school” classics I have recently watched or will soon be watching!

The Gilmore Girls (which I never watched when it first was on tv) was a little hard to get into at first but it picks up steam as the seasons roll on. Makes me wish I could banter quickly and wittily too!

Friends – so many great episodes, hair styles (The Rachel!!), fashion choices & iconic phrases “You’re my lobster!”

One Day at a Time – I used to watch One Day at a Time with my Mom back in the early 80’s (man i’m old) so it’s great to see this classic get re-booted. Will hopefully watch with my own kids one day, I love when things come full circle!

The X Files – I loved watching the X Files each week and my long lasting crush on David Duchovny started with this show.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air – “In…..West Philadelphia born & raised, on the playground is where I spent most of my days…..”, my kids actually love this show and it’s a great family show to watch together.

Party of Five – this is what I am currently watching and have been loving spending time with the Salinger family again (did you know Neve Campbell is on House of Cards right now?!) and reliving all the drama.

What are some of your old school favorites?
