Can coffee help reduce overwhelm? #FuelYourAwesome #BulletproofCoffee

featuredimage-1

The halls are being decked all over town (and not just in your local Costco), holiday music is starting to get played and my mental to-do lists are already starting to get overwhelming.

I can’t believe it’s THAT time of the year again. I can almost feel my stress levels climbing as I type this, and for someone who has struggled for most of her adult life with anxiety and panic it is especially important for me to keep my stress levels in check as we get closer to the holidays.

holiday stress

Factor in our upcoming 10 day vacation to Cancun, Mexico prior to the holidays next month (yes, I know #firstworldproblems) and that means I actually needed to start preparing like…WEEKS AGO.

GULP!

So what’s a stressed out and anxious mom to do when all she wants to do is stay curled up in bed through these dark, wet, dreary days?

Well to start I have been drinking Bulletproof Coffee first thing in the morning with their “secret sauce” aka Brain Octane for just over a month now. You may remember some of the benefits I have already experienced like…needing less sugar in my coffee, waking up before my alarm (which is great especially when it’s still dark at %$^&#%*$ 8am) and not snacking as much as I used to (which is good with all these yummy holiday treats around…mmm….shortbread..).

And how exactly might Bulletproof coffee help me do all of this besides…OBVI…the caffeine?!

Well, I won’t bore you with pages and pages of the exact science (you science nerds can check that out here) but Brain Octane contains “pure C8 MCT’s” that are derived from 100% distilled coconut oil that help calm and clear my mind when my anxiety is running high and gives me a much needed instant energy boost in the morning and sustains that energy all day long to make sure I can focus on the things that will help me stay healthy, happy and stress free this holiday season.

And what helps me stay less stressed over the holidays?

  1. My morning ritual – wake, stretch, do deep breathing for 5 mins, drink Bulletproof coffee
  2. Exercising and being outdoors – doing something every day, even if it’s a power walk around the neighborhood
  3. Eating well – it’s so hard to resist all those yummy treats this time of year, but Bulletproof coffee helps me reduce my sugar cravings
  4. Spending time with friends and family – and reminding myself it’s not about the presents, but being present with the ones I love.

As well, “upgraded” Bulletproof coffee goes through a special proprietary manufacturing process that helps avoid the toxins introduced into most coffees so I don’t get that inevitable crash after the caffeine “high” so no more excuses for me as to why I am completely useless after 2pm.

Caffeine is also shown to increase serotonin levels which is responsible for increasing your mood and increasing feelings of happiness. Which is certainly a win-win for this mama.

So my friends, I know the holidays can be a magical time, but they can also be very stressful for people including myself. So, be gentle with yourselves, drink your Bulletproof coffee, take a few deep belly breaths and remind yourself what the holidays are truly all about.

So glad you’ve found something that helps you keep the stress and anxiety at bay this time of year! #Firstworldproblems or not, it can be a challenge to juggle it all, but it sounds like you’re going to rock it!

Everything little thing helps this time of the year for sure! I just need to remember to slow down and focus on family and that seems to help a lot. And the coffee….and wine 🙂
