Ok, ok, so most of you will likely not have even opened this post because of the boring post title but hear me out! If you are reading this you likely own a blog, or have a website for your business, or maybe both. Do you know if your website is fully functional on Jack Smith’s Windows 8 machine running IE 4.0? Or does your super cool call to action “gack out” on Sally Smith’s Macbook runing Safari 4.x? How can one possibly know? And think about the possible sales, leads, or traffic you could be missing out on!

If you own a website, you need to check out Browserstack.

Browserstack is a cloud based app that allows you to perform LIVE, browser based testing of your website on over 700+ desktop and mobile browsers without you having to install numerous different operating systems and versions, nor ask your friends neighbors and loved ones to test on their various devices. I have used the app now through two free trials (shhhhhh!) and it has been amazing for troubleshooting issues with existing client websites saving me hours of frustration by narrowing down incompatibility issues within minutes.

Best of all you can sign up for a free trial which will give you 10 minutes to test out the app and then their “lite” pricing is only $17 a month for a single desktop user, a small price to pay to ensure that both your website and those viewing your website are happy!

What a great tool! I tried it out with our website, but more work to be done.

Hi Christine, I’m the Senior UX/UI designer at BrowserStack. First off, thanks for the encouraging post. Just wanted to add a minor correction – you get 30 minutes of Live testing and not 10 minutes. You also get the awesome Screenshots, Responsive and Automate tools as part of the free trial. Additionally, we’re going to be rolling out our new Live interface (which I think is quite dandy 🙂 ) along with new pricing plans aimed to make freelancers smile 🙂

Once again, thanks for the post and have a great day!

P.S. It feels like the text has disappeared when I try to select some text, since the selection color is white. Minor quip. Love the background 🙂
