The Things I Will Do in 2015

Ah 2014, it was quite the year. It was the year I fell back in love with Mountain Biking, bought a house, made some great new friends, went to a country bar, traveled, camped, took courses, survived an extra long summer vacation (thanks to the teachers strike), grew my business and much much more.

I am never one to make New Years resolutions, but I do want put some goals out there onto the interwebz so I will feel more accountable to y’all for reaching them in 2015.

I will make it to Blissdom Canada – Ok peeps, this is THE year, I have had ticket in hand the past few years and for one reason or another it just hasn’t happened. I WON a free ticket for 2015 so I really have no excuse at all (except for my paralysing fear of flying) but I am sure some wine and Ambien will take care of that.

I will see more Live Music – I love going to see live music and with Arkells, U2 and Taylor Swift tickets already purchased for 2015 I am well on my way. Add to that a few nights at the Dubh Lihn in Whistler watching my favorite Whistler band Ruckus Deluxe and my live music year is almost complete. Now if only the Arctic Monkeys and Coldplay would come to town……

I will take a Snowboarding Lesson – What is that saying again about “teaching old dogs…..?” I have snowboarded for years now but never really that well. So I am committing to going back to the basics and getting my moves honed properly so I can use up my Whistler Edge Card with confidence this winter season and maybe show those young whippersnapers in the park a few moves of my own 🙂

I will drop the BIG drop on Bobsled – Most of you don’t know what the heck I am talking about, but a few near and dear to me do. This is the biggest of three drops on a fun trail on Mt Fromme and I am determined to clean it by the summer (natch for a few other trails on Fromme)

I will make enough at my biz to charge GST – It’s been a challenge this year to balance my business and take care of the kids and move into a new house etc etc. I am also still figuring this whole business shizzle stuff out and it’s taken me awhile to start to work smarter and to charge what I am worth.

I will finish unpacking my house – We have lived in boxes for over 3 years now and enough is enough. I will unpack every last box and hang every last picture so our lovely new house really feels like HOME.

I will go on a Biking Road Trip – Still working out the deets on this one, but Joey and I want to explore some trails and bike parks around this fair province of ours and maybe even venture outside of Canada as well. A women’s course in Colorado? Perhaps? A steeps course in Cali? Maybe? Super excited to see how this adventure plays out this year.

What are some of your goals for 2015? Happy New Year Everyone!

I love all your aspirations for 2015! I feel your struggle with unpacking, too. There are always things that don’t quite get sorted. This is the year!!

Great goals! I haven’t written mine down yet, it’s a good idea though and then look back and see if you did or didn’t or if they changed. Thanks and happy new year!
